Project overview

The draft Climate Resilient Casey Plan 2024-2030 aims to provide a roadmap for a safer, connected and more resilient Casey, where Council and the community are climate ready and better prepared together.

The plan builds on the foundations laid by our Council Plan 2021-25 and Environment Strategy 2021-25, providing a clear roadmap to enhance our resilience against the growing climate hazards, risks and impacts.

We have a shared responsibility to act now, to protect our environment, and to secure a liveable future for all. Climate change is here, and it is going to get worse before it gets better. The world is experiencing rising temperatures, shifting weather patterns, and an increase in extreme weather events.

This plan is guided by a range of federal and state policies and regulations, including the National Climate Resilience and Adaptation Strategy, the Victorian Climate Change Act 2017 and the Local Government Act 2020. All of which guide local government decisions and action in responding to climate change.

We are seeking community feedback on the draft Climate Resilient Casey Plan.
