Following recent drainage improvement works, Council is now preparing to develop a concept for the upgrade of Ackland Park Reserve in Narre Warren North.

Thank you to the community members who contributed to our recent community consultation and attended our on-site engagement session. This engagement has helped us understand what improvements to the recreation facilities our community would like to see at Ackland Park Reserve. Community feedback is a vital step to ensure that we are able to provide a space that meets our community's needs, and we thank you for your contributions.

The proposed project will look to renew the existing playground and provide additional infrastructure to this local level reserve. Due to the constrained nature of the proposed location, and the proximity to key underground services, careful consideration to the location of play infrastructure is important. The space will aim to offer a range of inspiring and engaging play elements and amenities for its users.

Key themes that emerged as part of the recent consultation process included strong support for:

• An improved playground with more adventure-based play elements.
• Additional shelter with picnic tables and seating.
• A half basketball/multi-use court.

Based on the feedback we received, Council will now develop a draft concept plan, which will be shared with the community for feedback in the coming months. The concept plan will be guided by the key themes that have emerged during the community consultation and on-site engagement session in October. Delivery will be subject to Council's annual budget process.
