What is a biodiversity strategy?

The biodiversity strategy is the blueprint framework for how we will plan and invest in biodiversity and the natural environment. The biodiversity strategy looks to protect, manage and enhance biodiversity across Casey. A biodiversity strategy is required to effectively plan for the natural environment and community needs in Casey.

    What is biodiversity?

Biodiversity is the variety and variability of all forms of life on earth - the micro-organisms, plant and animals species, the genes they contain and the communities they belong to

    What happens after consultation?

The strategy will be further refined to reflect community views on what they want for the natural environment. The strategy and action plan will be developed for Council endorsement in May 2018.
