Project information

The City of Casey aims to build a supportive community where people from across the LGBTIQA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer, Asexual) spectrum feel welcome, safe, accepted, celebrated and included. As one of the fastest growing councils in Victoria and the state’s largest municipality, Casey strives to foster an inclusive and accepting environment where everyone feels welcome to live, play, work, celebrate, connect while playing a vital role in the growth and expansion of our city.

Through this survey we hope that members of the LGBTIQA+ community and their allies will share with us their experiences, thoughts and feelings on inclusion in our city.

Your input, insights and experiences collected through this survey and other complementary consultation activities will contribute to:

  • Advocating for a safer, inclusive, and celebrated LGBTIQA+ community in Casey
  • Development of City of Casey LGBTIQA+ Action Plan

The survey will take approximately 20 minutes. We have developed a list of questions that focus on your connection to Casey and your (or someone you care about) experiences.

This survey is to all members of the LGBTIQA+ community and allies that live, visit or work in the City of Casey and are 18 years and over. If you are 17 years of age or under, there will be an opportunity for you to engage (with parental permission, in some instances) later in our outreach program to support the launch of the draft Action Plan.

From here, you will have the opportunity to participate in future consultations. To register your interest, please email communityengagement@casey.vic.gov.au

Phase 2 of our community engagement strategy will commence in April 2022. To stay in the loop, click on the 'follow' button on the banner above.

The survey will be open from Sunday, 22 January 2023 and will close 16 April 2023.*

*The survey was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, 19 February 2023. The deadline has been extended due to the popularity of the activity and participants seeking more time to share the opportunity to contribute to this important piece of work.
