Community Callout: Help Us Prepare for Extreme Weather Events!

We are looking for community members from across Casey to join a collaborative effort to prepare for extreme weather events like heatwaves, bushfires, storms, and floods.

We’re particularly interested in gathering ideas and insights for Hampton Park, Blind Bight, and Warneet. As our climate changes, extreme weather events are becoming more frequent, and we want to ensure these communities are ready.

What’s involved?

  • Who can participate: Anyone aged 15 or older interested in creating solutions for extreme weather resilience.
  • When: A series of 2-hour workshops will occur from March to July, with the group's preferred preference of follow-up sessions.
  • Where: Workshops will be held in the Blind Bight/Warneet area and Hampton Park.
  • What you'll do: Join sessions with a resilience expert to learn about climate change and extreme weather. Using this knowledge and your understanding of the local area, you'll help create a project to boost community preparedness.

Why participate?

  • Contribute to your community's future. Your ideas can help shape how Hampton Park, Blind Bight and Warneet adapt to climate change.
  • Learn valuable skills. Gain knowledge from resilience experts and collaborate with others to create meaningful, sustainable solutions.
  • Be part of a change. Play an active role in helping the community cope with extreme weather events.

How to get involved: If you’re interested in participating, please submit your details so we can consider you for one of the two working groups.

We can create a safer, more resilient future for Hampton Park, Blind Bight and Warneet.
