Naming a new community centre and future recreation reserve in Clyde – 'Kulap'
We are seeking community feedback on a proposal to name the new community centre at 51 Riverland Road and a future recreation reserve at 90 Bellavita Avenue, Clyde:
- Kulap Community Centre
- Kulap Recreation Reserve
The proposed name has been provided with approval from the Bunurong Land Council Aboriginal Corporation (BLCAC) and reflects the cultural heritage of the Traditional Owners. Kulap means emu in the Bunurong language.
The name also aligns with the nearby Kulap Primary School, supporting a shared identity and sense of place across these connected community spaces.
The proposed names comply with the Geographic Names Victoria (GNV) Naming Rules for Places in Victoria.
Any feedback or objections to the proposed names must be received within 30 days of the notification date and must comply with the Geographic Names Victoria Naming Rules. Objections should clearly demonstrate how the proposal does not meet these Naming Rules.
