Sample size estimation

Population size

The total number of people in the group you are trying to study. For us, this is the number of applicable staff, as in those who have significant CRM implementation and administration experience, in 1,000 to 5,000 employee businesses globally.

We roughly estimate this to be 500,000.

Margin of error

A percentage that tells us how much we can expect our survey results to reflect the views of the overall population. The smaller the margin of error, the closer we are to having the exact answer at a given confidence level.

95% is the industry standard and we will stay with that.

Sampling confidence level

A percentage that reveals how confident we can be that the population would select an answer within a certain range. For example, a 95% confidence level means that we can be 95% certain the results lie between x and y numbers.

5% is our confidence level
