Employment Land Design Vision
Casey’s future employment areas will be vibrant and exciting places with innovative businesses and quality public spaces, which will create local connections, celebrate their heritage and landscapes, and become centres for the jobs of the future and economic growth.
Background
The Employment Land Design Guide is a technical document that provides built form and public realm design guidance to all future commercial, light industrial and industrial land use developments in Casey.
This guide will be a design resource to aid the discussion between applicants and Council officers for future development applications related to commercial and industrial land uses.
The guide outlines key design principles and provides a set of recommendations on how to achieve best practice and sustainable design outcomes within employment areas.
The City of Casey aims to set a new ‘good design’ benchmark for future employment-focused developments (i.e. commercial offices and industrial development) in the municipality. To achieve this outcome, a high standard of urban design, architecture and landscape architecture is required. In turn, this will improve the quality of the work environment and attractiveness to new and innovative businesses, customers, and employees alike.
Summary & Objectives
This guide only applies to new or renewal development applications and will not affect any existing buildings
