The City of Casey has developed a concept design for a new shade structure in the Endeavour Hills Town Square. We are seeking funding to advance this project from the concept phase to construction.

Why is a shade structure needed?

Casey has received feedback over time from the Library, Leisure Centre and Neighbourhood Centre about the need for shade.

The need was heightened during the COVID-19 pandemic, with community and staff alike seeking outdoor areas to gather and connect while socially distancing.

The introduction of suitable shade structure will support Sun Smart outdoor activities and event.

The presence of shade will reduce reflective glare and minimise heat retention in the area, enabling people to meet outside for longer periods.
