Why are we having this workshop?

Earlier this year the City of Casey underwent a formal review of the Casey Equestrian Reference Committee (CERC).

The review highlighted the importance of equestrian opportunities within the City of Casey, however found that CERC was not well recognised in the equestrian community and wasn’t seen as the ideal way to capture the views and thoughts of the equestrian community.

The review determined that there are more effective and inclusive ways to gain input from and communicate with Councils equestrian community, therefore Council resolved to disband CERC.

    Instead Council will:

    • Hold an equestrian workshop to give the Casey equestrian community, Councillors and Council officers an opportunity to come together and be informed and engaged on equestrian matters that affect them.
    • Conduct targeted online consultations, face-to-face engagement and community focus groups for capital works, planning and advocacy projects.
    • Utilise Council’s newly formed Casey Equestrian Facebook Group, to seek feedback and promote outcomes and participation opportunities.
