Project info

As COVID19 restrictions begin to ease in Melbourne, hospitality businesses will be able to reopen but will be restricted predominately to outdoor dining with a patron cap.

As a priority, City of Casey is streamlining assessment of applications for all business owners wishing to increasing outdoor dining space, and additionally Council is exploring the use of public carparks and open space for pop up parks in key retail precincts. Above all, it is important to develop an outdoor dining model that is safe, accessible and viable for all businesses and customers.

City of Casey is seeking input from businesses in all sectors, residents and visitors on a number of initiatives we can trial in our activity centres. Please share your thoughts on how we can increase the opportunity for outdoor dining but also welcome visitors back and reactivate our centres for the benefit of all retailers and businesses in the precinct.

What happens next: Council will use this information to inform its Expanded Outdoor Dining program. The information will help Council determine which locations to implement pop up parks and other measures we can take to increase outdoor dining opportunities and reactivate retail and dining precincts in City of Casey.
