Stage 2 Consultation Results
In June and July 2016, the City of Casey conducted consultation with the landowners of all of our heritage places on their experiences and expectations. This feedback will be used to assist Council with the preparation of the Casey Heritage Strategy 2016.
Having received responses from approximately 15% of Casey's heritage owners, some key learnings include:
- Almost all heritage owners believe heritage places are an important part of our community.
- The costs of upkeep, restoration and maintenance of heritage properties is considerable, but varies widely depending on the asset.
- Most heritage owners are generally aware of Casey's Heritage Grants Scheme, but not all feel well informed about other services Council can provide.
