Help name the Endeavour Hills Community Precinct

Consultation has concluded

An artist impression of the Endeavour Hills Community Precinct - Stage 2 project.

Works are underway on a major project to further improve and enhance the Endeavour Hills Community Precinct and the community had the the opportunity to help us name this exciting project until 23 June.

Council is undertaking a $3.36 million project in the heart of Endeavour Hills to deliver a new and improved regional skate park, new playground, terraced landscaping and lawn area for events and installation of gymnastics and parkour equipment.

We’ve worked with a branding and design consultant to come up with four potential names, each of which is unique and reflects different aspects of Endeavour Hills and this project.

We have had a terrific response and thank everyone who has cast their vote for the precinct. Voting closed on Sunday 23 June.

We will come back to you to announce the final name once a report has gone to Council and the name adopted.

    Acronym: Mingle. Explore. Skate. Hub

This concept literally means to integrate, harmonise, interconnect and pull together - and by that we mean the local Endeavour Hills community - in a centralised location. People interacting harmoniously across all demographics in a shared recreational and leisure space. It also works as an acronym in its own right, and it’s imagined that if selected, the final design may reflect this duality.

In Australian Aboriginal Dreamtime, Bunjil the eagle is the Creator Spirit of south-eastern Australia.

With Bunjil Place proudly utilised in the City of Casey, we looked to the Dreamtime to continue the storytelling. The Dreaming story tells us Bunjil had a son, the rainbow spirit. His name inspired this option.

Catchy and modern sounding, this name takes inspiration from the angles, planes and inclines found across the park’s landscaped terraces and sloping paths and relates directly to the angle of the skatepark ramp.
