Consultation was open between Monday 18 September and closed Friday 13 October, 5:00pm.

Community had the opportunity to provide feedback on Council's draft Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan(RAP), to ensure it is reflective of Casey's unique people and places.

We are committed to nurturing deeper connections of respect and collaboration with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community while promoting broader understanding and education within our entire community.

Through the development of this RAP, we aspire to build upon the remarkable achievements of the Aboriginal Gathering Place in Doveton and further align our organisation with the goals of Reconciliation. This is an exciting step in our journey of reconciliation as an organisation as it will create space for us all to reflect on where we are and where we need to go, ensuring that the foundational principle of self-determination is embedded in our work.

What happened next

Following consultation, Council considered feedback and developed the final Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan which was endorsed in May 2024.
