In 2021 the City of Casey and Cardinia Shire announced that the Casey Cardinia Library (CCL) Corporation would be dissolved from December 2022. In October 2022 the City of Casey announced Council would continue with CCL services and support CCL in becoming a compliant entity under the new Local Government Act 2020.

While the transition to a different service model will mean changes behind the scenes, there is no intent to reduce library services, and instead continue to improve and enhance the much-loved and valued library services.

As part of the change, the City of Casey is seeking feedback on its proposed Casey Cardinia Library Corporation Regional Library Agreement.

City of Casey remains the sole member of CCLC.

The proposed updates to the Casey Cardinia Library Corporation Regional Library Agreement includes amended governance and reporting arrangements and removes references to Cardinia Shire Council.
