Role of the City of Casey Smart City Advisory Committee:

The City of Casey Smart City Advisory Committee has an advisory role and brings community perspectives to Council. The Committee provides strategic advice and advocacy to the City of Casey on Smart City concepts, issues and initiatives of relevance to the municipality in line with the Council Plan and City of Casey Smart City Strategy.

The objectives of the Committee are to:

  • Oversee the development and implementation of Council policies, strategies and action plans relating to Smart Cities
  • Assist Council to identify and make recommendations on issues affecting residents of the City of Casey that may be able to be solved through the application of Smart City concepts
  • Encourage and support activities and events which promote and support Casey becoming and continuing to be a Smart City.
  • To enable greater public participation in decision making via various community engagement and consulting strategies.

How to use this page:

On this page, the Committee can communicate about new ideas, insights, surveys/polls, upcoming events and also to find key documents (including terms of reference, agendas, minutes and others).

This will be the central communication point and a collaboration tool to feed ongoing perspectives from the Smart City Advisory Committee into key aspects of the Smart City activities at the City of Casey.

Do you have any networks we can send the smart city strategy survey and online webinar to?

<p>As our engagement approach to the smart city strategy development is now completely online, we are hoping to find networks or groups we can tap into. This could be getting a spot in a newsletter or on a website or social media page. </p><p>Other than the general public and Casey employees, our target segments are:</p><p>- Local businesses</p><p>- Education sector</p><p>- Sustainability groups</p><p>- Community Service Organisations </p><p>We would also love to be connected with local Tech meetups or groups as well as sporting clubs. </p><p>If you have any connections and ways for us to get onto their radars, please comment below. I will follow up and start to build a database and send you some information when we release the surveys etc. </p><p>Thanks! <br></p>
