    Council is currently developing a new four-year Domestic Animal Management Plan. To help develop the Plan, Council would like you to have your say on dog and cat related issues that affect the community.

    With more than 27,000 dogs and 7,500 cats registered in the City of Casey, there is a need for Council to seek feedback from both pet owners and non-pet owners on issues that affect them.

    The City of Casey’s 2016-17 Draft Budget is now available for community consultation, featuring a capital works investment of more than $154 million to keep pace with Casey’s rapidly growing population and a rate increase of 3.47%, following Council’s application to the Essential Services Commission (ESC) for a rate cap variation.

    Council has prepared the draft Old Cheese Factory Master Plan to deliver a range of recommendations over the next 5 years based on extensive community and stakeholder feedback.

    The plan allows for the site to become a well know community destination that provides a space for leisure, visual and creative arts, community interaction, celebration and open space.

    The City of Casey is creating an exciting new arts, cultural, community and civic facility in Melbourne’s south east.

    It will be the only facility of its kind, serving a regional community which currently lacks access to arts and cultural facilities. Bunjil Place will offer visitors an unprecedented, diverse mix of arts, leisure, entertainment, library and civic facilities in one location.

    A key feature of Bunjil Place will be a community plaza; specifically designed for families and community events.

    Did you know that there are over 180 places in Casey that are protected by heritage controls under the Casey Planning Scheme?

    Casey has seen extensive change throughout its history to become, what is now, the most populous municipality in Victoria. With an estimated 150,000 new residents expected in Casey by 2031, we will continue to see significant growth and change to our natural and built landscape.

    In December 2015, the City of Casey held a community forum, Building our future, to gather feedback from community representatives on how Council should respond to the provision of future community infrastructure in response to the current rate capping requirements being set by the Victorian State Government.

    Council will consider its response to rate capping in early 2016. The results of the focus group, combined with the online forum held concurrently, will be considered by Councillors as part of their decision making.
