Project Background

As part of the ongoing rollout of the Wilson Botanic Park Masterplan, Council is proposing a new overflow car park to help manage growing visitor numbers and improve accessibility. The extra parking is designed to ease congestion during busy times and events, making visits to the park more enjoyable for everyone.

This idea builds on earlier community feedback during the Masterplan’s development, where the need for more parking was clearly identified. The overflow car park also supports the long-term vision for Wilson Botanic Park as a vibrant destination for recreation, events, and environmental education.

What information do we need from the community?

We are seeking feedback from community members who have visited Wilson Botanic Park. As part of the implementation of the Wilson Botanic Park Masterplan, Council is proposing the development of an overflow car park to support increasing visitation and improve accessiblity.

The proposed overflow car park aims to alleviate parking pressures during peak visitation times and enhance the overall experience for park users.
