What is a Youth Strategy?
A Youth Strategy provides a clearly defined framework of service delivery for the City of Casey’s Youth Services team. It explores the current and future needs of the young people and their families in the City of Casey. Council works to ensure that, a service, connects, supports, educates and advocates for young people and their families, schools and educations system providers and the community to give young people, in the City of Casey, the opportunity to be the best they can be.
Why do we need a Youth Strategy?
Young people are at a vital point in their lives and play a crucial role in their community. They are the future leaders, students, workers and parents of our community. Between the ages of 10 and 25 years people go through a number of developmental stages, during these years their needs and issues are different to those of an adult or a child and they may need extra support. It is Council’s priority to support, strengthen, protect and empower factors that enhance young people’s connectivity to the local community and support them to reach their full potential. Council will invest in assisting young people to successfully transition to adulthood by working with them to develop the necessary knowledge and skills to deal with challenge and adversity throughout their lives.
What is Council's role in Youth?
The City of Casey’s Youth Services team provides ‘Generalist Youth Services’ to young people between 10 – 25 years, and their families. The role of council is to invest in assisting young people to successfully transition to adulthood by working with them to develop the necessary knowledge and skills to deal with challenge and adversity throughout their lives.
