The City of Casey is advocating for improvements to Ballarto Road as it is an important future east-west arterial route that connects Cranbourne East to Cardinia. Future planning, arterial road declaration, and intersection upgrades are required for new communities.

Between South Gippsland Highway and Clyde-Five Ways Road, Ballarto Road should be declared as an arterial road and upgraded including a new signalised intersection at Clyde-Five Ways Road.
