The City of Casey has now applied for $250,000 in funding from the Victorian Government’s ‘2021 Local Sports Infrastructure Fund’ to complete the Casey Fields Fitness Trail and we invite you to provide your support.

This funding has a particular focus on providing new and improved infrastructure to encourage the participation of women and girls.

The Project:

The Casey Fields Fitness Trail will deliver a 4.5-kilometre circuit around the regional sporting precinct, for the community and sports clubs to access. The new trail will provide increased recreational and social opportunities and enable the hosting of local events. Stage one of 2.8 kilometres is currently in construction.

If successful in receiving funding from the Victorian Government, this project will deliver:

  • 1.7 km granitic path
  • 30W solar light poles
  • Seating
  • Water refill stations
  • Static exercise stations
  • Wayfinding signage (for the entire trail)
  • New trees

Cost:

The total anticipated cost of the project is $932,703.98, with Council contributing $682,703.98 and if successful the Victorian Government contributing $250,000. If Council is not successful in receiving funding, the project delivery timing will be reassessed to when Council has the additional rate funding to deliver the project.

Timing:

If successful in receiving funding from the Victorian Government, it is expected these works will commence December 2022 and be completed April 2023 and will have limited impact to park users.
