How much do you know about the impact of food waste and our built environment?

Test your knowledge with the Circular Casey quiz!

Why do we need a Circular Economy?

Cities are crucial in the transition to a Circular Economy as they are responsible for consuming 75% of the Global natural resources, producing 50% of Global waste and emitting 80% of the greenhouse gases that are causing rising temperature worldwide.

The City of Casey is one of the fastest-growing communities in Australia, and it is predicted to become home to 616,200 people by 2041. This means more waste produced and more pollution generated, unless we embrace a Circular Economy model and innovate boldly today to ensure the sustainable growth of our local economy, and a timely response to these environmental challenges.

What is Circular Casey?

Circular Casey is a City of Casey initiative that includes funding and support for organisations that wish to trial a circular economy project in response to the key problems we identified.

The applicants that are successful for the Circular Economy Living Lab grant will work along the City of Casey to test their ideas over a six-month time, implementing new products or services that are good for the environment and beneficial for the community.

While organisations apply to participate in Circular Casey and provide knowledge and solutions, we will want to hear from you and know what you think of the services and products we are testing with our partners.
