The City of Casey intends to apply for $100,000 via the Victorian Governments 2022 Community Cricket Program to upgrade and reconstruct the eastern oval at Max Pawsey Reserve and we invite you to provide you support.

The Project

The project responds to the identified facility challenge for Cricket in Victoria of ground availability and capacity and playing field sizes.

If successful in receiving funding from the Victorian Government, this project will deliver:

  • Redesign and upgrade of the eastern oval to increase the size of the playing surface
  • Improved drainage
  • New irrigation that will link to the planned stormwater harvesting system
  • New sports field lighting (100 lux)
  • New fencing and perimeter footpath

Cost:

The total anticipated cost of the project is $2,000,000, with Council contributing $1,900,000 and if successful the Victorian Government contributing $100,000. If Council is not successful in receiving funding, the project delivery timing will be reassessed to when Council has the additional rate funding to deliver the project.

Timing:

If successful in receiving funding from the Victorian Government, it is expected these works will commence in late 2022 and be completed in mid-2023.
