The City of Casey is committed to restoring the Ercildoune Court Reserve and Homestead in Cranbourne West, through balancing the use and activation of this space with its heritage protection.

In August 2019, approximately 30 people attended a community information session on the site and approximately 60 people participated in the Phase 1 engagement process, including residents of Allarah Estate and adjoining properties. Review the Summary Report.

During the community consultation, the feedback offered key concepts which have be considered in the site’s revitalisation, including:

  • Preserve green space
  • Reflecting the heritage (historical information related to culture and heritage.
  • Places for connection (picnic space, seating)
  • Opportunities for learning – (community garden)

The landscaping concepts have been designed based on feedback provided by the community, and funds have already been allocated to complete those works, pending another round of community consultation. So now it is your time to make sure we have got it right.

The intention is to complete the restoration works to the homestead when funds become available through Council’s capital works program or through government grants.

All feedback received from the community will be considered in preparing the options for the site.

Casey Council closely monitored Covid-19. In line with State and Federal Government advice, we reduced any non-essential gatherings in an attempt to reduce the risk of contamination and harm to our community; as such we cancelled the Community Pop Up scheduled for 28 March 2020.

Work on this project must continue and we have replaced the face-to-face engagement and provided two options for you to provide your feedback on the draft concept plan.:

    • Online survey
    • Self guided tour.
As always we are more than happy to speak with anyone over the phone if you have any concerns or questions.

When we met in August 2019, you shared your thoughts with us around how the community could use the Ercildoune Court Reserve and Homestead and surrounding land in the future.

We have taken all ideas on board and are using them to shape the draft Masterplan.

Initially we had hoped to bring the draft design and options back to you in November to hear your ideas. However, it is taking longer than we originally anticipated to shape the draft designs as we want to ensure that we have captured everything that you told us accurately.
