We need your help to understand safety perceptions in our community

Exploring Safety in Casey was a long‑term community engagement program led by the City of Casey to better understand how residents experience safety in their everyday lives. Between 2021 and 2025, Council worked with the community to hear directly about what helps people feel safe, where safety concerns exist, and what actions could make Casey an even safer place to live, work and visit.

This work recognises that safety is not just about crime statistics – it is also about how people feel in their streets, homes, parks, shopping centres, transport spaces and neighbourhoods.


This project is now complete. Reports are available for download in the Document Library.


How Your Feedback Is Being Used

Community feedback from Exploring Safety in Casey is being used to:

  • Inform Council’s Community Safety priorities and strategies
  • Guide place‑based responses such as lighting, maintenance and activation
  • Support funding applications and partnerships
  • Strengthen collaboration with external stakeholders
  • Shape future engagement, ensuring diverse voices continue to be heard

This work also supports Council’s commitment under the Local Government Act 2020 to transparently share engagement outcomes and demonstrate how community input influences decision‑making.
