Cranbourne Line and Merinda Park Station Update

22 June 2020

Cranbourne Line Upgrades to transform the Cranbourne Line together with major rail projects, are underway. These changes will create more frequent and reliable services and enable 121,000 extra peak hour passengers each week across the Cranbourne and Pakenham lines.

Track upgrades include eight kilometres of single track from Dandenong to Cranbourne to be duplicated, paving the way for trains every ten minutes on the Cranbourne Line.

The upgrades are on track to finish by 2023.

A brand new Merinda Park station will also be built with dual platforms and better facilities. Council is working with its Big Build partners seeking the best design for the station. We understand the community expects an accessible station, with public toilet amenities.
