The Ask

The City of Casey has a growing number of residents living in mobile blackspots. This is primarily due to the lack of cellular telecommunications infrastructure in our growth areas.

The City of Casey believes cellular telecommunication networks and infrastructure should be an ‘essential service’ in line with existing telecommunications provisions and other services like water and energy etc, for all States and Territories.

The Victorian Government should investigate planning controls that require earlier delivery of cellular telecommunications infrastructure in new residential and commercial estates, particularly in Australia’s growth areas.
